Goldwater's The Senator's Chili

While Texas claims to be the Chili capitol of the world, any self respecting Arizonan would take offense. This was tested back in the day when then Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater praised the chili of Arizona while deploring that of Texas. The New York Times got involved and Senator John Tower from Texas rose up to defend his state's chili style. A cookoff ensued between the two Senators and low and behold, a panel of experts from the International Chili Society chose the Senator from Arizona's chili as the best. Hence a legend was born and here it is for you to make at home!

We discovered this chili when we were on the Atkins Diet years ago. We've since left that way of eating, however, we swear by Senator Goldwater's chili. It's the best we've ever tasted. Just the right amount of everything to make it superb!

I love this chile mix! I used to use my own spices, but this box has the perfect amount the right spices and it always turns out excellent, even when I get creative with the meats, beans, and veggies. My mouth is watering thinking about it.

this is probably the best chili mix on the market. I have tried it w/ beef, turkey, chicken and vegetarian. Feeds 8 generous servings.

To the Texas purest, one should not add beans. This chili is just as good with or without beans and I used to be a chili contest judge!

I love this chilli!! I never buy box mixes and was given this in a gift basket. really really good. Just the right spices and seasonings. Sometimes I use a little red wine rather than the beer. It's a staple in our house.
